Leadership Kit - Activities

Square Rope - This is another easy event that can be very powerful. The leadership that will emerge and the group participation (or lack thereof) will always reveal interesting insights and draw out profound learning from the team members. Interdependence is clear in this activity.

Amoeba Race - This is a great event! It can be done as a race against the clock, another team, or simply as a challenge. Amoeba race is a communication challenge for the team as well as for the sighted person. The sighted person has to work quickly through many limitations to develop alternate signals to direct their team. Communication, Trust, Leadership, 'Fellowship' and Teamwork will all be put to the test during this event. It will also be FUN!

Giant Key Pad - The purpose of this event is to engage the team in dialogue about how they work together. The nature of the activity allows the team to discover more and more efficient ways of completing the task. This is a timed event that can be repeated until the group is satisfied with their performance. Conversations about team effectiveness and improvement often follow this fun and very active event

Links - The purpose of this exercise is to physically bring to life the metaphor that every member of a team is an important "link in the chain." This event is also a good way to examine individual team member's sense of value and accountability to their team.
